At the risk of sounding like a cheap commercial, this calling in of energy really is a free gift from the Divine that is available to us at any time. All we have to do is request it and then allow it.

The Masculine in Me
What's more, a woman can call in more of the masculine energy if she wishes and a man can call in more of the feminine. Every one of us has a 'masculine' aspect that is the energy associated with being more 'out there' in the world. This energy in its positive form is about action. It is demonstrated in our world by the sun, the heat and fire that call to us to access our passion, creativity and righteous anger.

Masculine energy is about being able to create things in the world, being grounded and extraverted. This energy relates to the functions of the left-brain that controls such things as language and communication skills, numeracy and logic.

When it is being expressed in the negative, masculine energy can become aggressive. This is the energy responsible for such things as wars, road rage, temper tantrums, screaming fits and domestic violence.

The Feminine in Me
Feminine energy on the other hand, is the quiet, intuitive, dreamy and introverted energy of the moon. It calls to us to have awareness of the cycles of life and our place in Nature. In its positive aspects it is about nurturing, gestation and having faith in the Wheel of Life.

Feminine energy calls to us to trust our inner knowing and our visions. It allows us to be patient and to wait for the right time, instead of pushing to try and force something to happen.

Feminine energy in the negative can lead to depression, obsession, sulking, refusing to talk to someone, becoming a recluse or developing a victim complex.

Balance in All Things
In order to achieve a balanced life (and arguably, that is why we're here!) it is important to become conscious about your own masculine and feminine energies. If we notice an imbalance, especially if your life has been demonstrating a negative outworking of one of the energies, then it is time to do some conscious work to call in the positive aspect of the counter-balancing force.
